About Gunter

Kia ora,

my name is Gunter

I first came to New Zealand in 1990, aged 24, to visit friends that had emigrated here from Germany.

Being a trained cabinet maker turned out to be my ticket to permanent residency in this beautiful country.

I since completed an arts degree, became a secondary school teacher, and taught technology and more in a number of schools around the country.

In 2016 I picked up the tools again and bought Amazing Glazing - a small business specializing in retrofit double glazing. I am now also building kitchens, doors, windows, decks, doing alterations and renovations. Occasionally I do some tiling, replace guttering – whatever needs doing or fixing.

Any job - big or small - my aim is to leave my clients happy with the work and with what they got for their money!

Gunter is one of those rare finds these days, a skilled, reliable, honest and conscientious tradesman whose rates are very reasonable. He is a skilled carpenter/joiner and can turn his hand to most other things building related.

He built us a large deck, a wooden storage seat, as well as making and installing a beautiful set of cedar french doors.

During the time he was working at our bach he did all the things that make project managing a job, sometimes remotely so much easier. He turned up on time, he always replied to texts and emails promptly, he continuously consulted with us to make sure we were happy with progress, was very, very hardworking, tidy and just a joy to have around.

In short I would not hesitate in recommending Gunter. I am lucky to have found such a tradesman in this day and age.
